Criminal Defense
Court has the experience to represent individuals accused of committing crimes in both state and federal courts. Hiring a criminal defense attorney is a difficult decision, many times made under the pressure and duress of a recent criminal arrest or pending investigation. The best time to hire an attorney in these matters is early on. Court was a Board Certified Specialist in Criminal Trial Law from 2015 – 2020, which was awarded to him by the Florida Bar due to his qualifications, vast trial experience and ability to pass the board certification exam. Having been a prosecutor for many years in the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office, Court works well with prosecutors and law enforcement in order to represent his clients in seeking to attain their goals. When and if the time comes for trial, Court has the experience to call into question the tactics and misdeeds of law enforcement in order to raise the reasonable doubt necessary in order to obtain an acquittal by a jury. In addition to representing those accused of crimes, Court has also effectively represented victims and witnesses of crimes in order to protect their best interests in the criminal justice system that is unfamiliar to most. Working hand-in-hand with his clients, Court structures creative strategies to pursue client goals. From violent crimes to complex white collar frauds, Court has the experience to represent individuals accused of crimes in their time of need.  Note that Court decided to forgo the reapplication process to extend his Board Certification designation in 2020 due to his practice evolving to become primarily focussed on complex civil litigation.
